The Trondson Family
As a young boy, Bob Trondson learned to swim at Ruttger’s. A generation later, he returned to Ruttger’s and taught his own kids to swim in the peaceful waters of Bay Lake.
Our Ruttger’s “Cabin”
Meet the Diffley family. A few years back when they were shopping for a cabin in the area, they discovered Ruttger’s. After falling in love with the comfortable, family friendly vibe of the resort, they decided life would be a whole lot less work if Ruttger’s became their cabin. The result is a lot of stress-free family time at Bay Lake. They liked it so much, they even named their dog Ruby.
Meet Frankie. She’s a bit of a celebrity here at Ruttger’s. It might be because of her infectious personality, or her abundant kindness. Or, it might be that she can sing like an angel and can often be found on stage with the band.
A love affair with Bay Lake
In 1944, Heather Norton’s grandparents trekked to Ruttger’s from Kansas for summer vacation. It started a love affair with Bay Lake and a relationship with the Ruttger’s family that has stood the test of time. In fact, Heather recently fulfilled her life-long dream of retiring on the shores of Bay Lake.
Unforgettable Family Memories
It’s often the simple things in life that are most important. This video, created by Becca Peterson about her family’s Ruttger’s vacation, reminds us that memories of the times we spend laughing, joking, playing, sharing a meal, relaxing and simply hanging out with family will last a lifetime.
Over the 50 years they have fished at Ruttger’s, Jerry and Connie Lewandowski have named all their bass hot spots after their fishing buddies. They’ve caught more than their share, but the memories of good days on Bay Lake are the real trophies. “We’ve traveled all over the world and Ruttger’s is one of our favorite places to come home to.” – Connie and Gerry
