Ruttger’s Reading Fund
Ruttger’s Reading Fund is a charitable outreach that raises money and donates to the reading programs at Crosby-Ironton and Aitkin elementary schools. Since its inception, more than $75,000 has been donated. In 2016, Ruttger’s raised $7,400 for the initiative, and in 2017-18, another $14,000 was raised. In 2016, Chris Ruttger presented checks for $3,700 to Rippleside Elementary School Principal Jesse Peterson and Cuyuna Range Elementary School Principal Kurt Becker. In 2019, Ruttger will present another check to each school. The funds will be used to buy books and provide resources to help area students learn the joy of reading.
