Ruttger’s Reading Fund
Ruttger’s Reading Fund is a charitable outreach that raises money and donates to the reading programs at Crosby-Ironton and Aitkin elementary schools. Since its inception, more than $75,000 has been donated. In 2016, Ruttger’s raised $7,400 for the initiative, and in 2017-18, another $14,000 was raised.
In 2016, Chris Ruttger presented checks for $3,700 to Rippleside Elementary School Principal Jesse Peterson and Cuyuna Range Elementary School Principal Kurt Becker. In the winter of 2019, Ruttger will present another check of more than $7,000 to each school.
The funds will be used to buy books and provide resources to help area students learn the joy of reading.
