Activities Staff

May interact with children taking advantage of Kids’ Kamp Program. May assist resort guests with all resort activities, including camp fires, tubing, horseback riding, and tennis. May assist with all marina activities, including boat preparation, fishing, pontoon cruises, and beach clean-up.

Auntie M's Barista

Responsible for a variety of duties relating to sales of coffees, ice cream, beverages and candy, as well as gift merchandise. Meets and greets guests, maintain sanitation standards, display and track merchandise, keep store clean and orderly inside and out. Interact on a daily basis with guests and resort staff.

Bartender - Bear Pine Bar & Grill

Responsible for the set-up, maintenance and operation of the Bear Pine Bar. Takes drink and/or food orders from guests or servers. Prepares and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks in accordance with standard recipes. Serves wine, bottled and/or draught beer and ale. Rings drink orders into POS system, collects payments and makes change as necessary. Washes and sterilizes glass and stemware. Sets up portable bars at on and off site locations.

Beverage Cart Assistant

Responsible for the serving of beverages and snacks to our on-golf-course guests

Custodian

Responsible for keeping all lobbies, restrooms, front desk, offices, kitchen, dining rooms, pools and bar areas clean and sanitary.

Dishwasher - Ruby's Dining Room

Responsible for cleaning all dishes, trays, utensils, cups, and small kitchen equipment. Maintain the dish room and dish machine in a sanitary and efficient manner.

Dishwasher / Utility - Zig's Restaurant & Bar

Responsible for cleaning all dishes, trays, utensils, cups, and small kitchen equipment. Maintain the dish room and dish machine in a sanitary and efficient manner.

Events Service Staff

Part of a team responsible for providing conference and event spaces set-up and clearing; barbeque and banquet set-up and tear down; set up all refreshment spaces for guests; set up, test, and properly store all Audio/Visual (A/V) equipment; maintain cleanliness and organization of the department areas; perform various deliveries to departments and guests.

Front Desk/Night Auditor

Completes guest check-in procedures. Post charges to guest accounts. Cashes checks for guests according to approval policy. Completes guest check out procedures. Settles guest accounts. Handles cash, checks, credit cards, and direct billing requests properly. Balances cash and all transactions at the close of each shift. Operates POS system, and runs daily reports. Manages safe deposit boxes and room keys, according to policies and procedures. Assists during any emergencies and follows proper procedures.

  • Runs registration cards and assembles guest packets, including meal passes.
  • Obtains house bank, POS, and Front Desk drawers and keeps them balanced.
  • Posts daily allocations; runs night audit accurately and timely.
  • Completes guest check-in procedures and posts charges to guest accounts. Transfers balances to other accounts as required.
  • Ensures backup tapes are taken care of as per procedure.
  • Maintains supply of coin and currency by completing change requests.
  • Cashes checks for guests following approval policy.
  • Completes guest check out procedures. Pulls registration cards for departures and assembles alphabetically.
  • Handles cash, checks, credit cards, and direct billing requests properly.
  • Balances cash at end of shift. Settles guest accounts.
  • Runs nightly reports from computer and distributes to proper departments.
  • Manages safe deposit boxes, resort keys and banks.
  • Follows shut down procedures in the event of power failure. Knows and follows all emergency procedures.
  • Foster positive working relationships and communication with all departments.
  • Any and all other duties as assigned.

Front Desk Staff

Golf Outside Services

Meet and greet guests and tend to guest’s golf clubs. Keep cart barn and practice areas clean and inviting at all times. Clean and wash carts on a regular basis, keeping an adequate supply of cars staged in front of cart barn. Fetch rental clubs. Clean and return to storage. Set-up, maintain, and pick up practice range.

Grounds Staff

Assist with landscaping and other work. Mow and trim grassy areas. Shears and prunes shrubs and hedges. Responsible for general cleaning of grounds and patios. Removes garbage to dumpster area. Cuts firewood. Operates landscape department equipment. Keeps outdoor furniture in order.

Host/hostess - Ruby's Dining Room

Greet guests upon arrival. Escort guests to assigned table. Assist with servers as needed. Familiar with dining room menus and beverage selections. Able to answer guest questions regarding all resort facilities and surrounding areas. Takes dining reservations in person or over the phone. Prepares and maintains fire throughout shift. Straightens fireplace lobby.

Scoop ice cream for guests. Assist with set up and tear down of the ice cream station. Must be 14 or older. 

Laundry Attendant

Sort laundry for cleaning. Spot clean heavily soiled items. Load used laundry into commercial washers. Add chemicals to washers to aid in cleaning. Load wet laundry into commercial dryers. Sort and fold cleaned laundry.

Line Cook - Ruby's Dining Room

Experience required Prepares food items to ensure that food quality and presentation exceed expectations. Completes orders accurately and in a timely manner. Prepares items for cooking by peeling, portioning, washing, cutting and mixing follow Resort recipes. Controls expenses by producing only what is needed, and preparing items correctly the first time. Properly labels, rotates and stores all products. Keeps coolers, storage rooms and reach-ins organized. Maintains a clean and sanitary workstation and kitchen. Completes daily and weekly cleaning duties. Ensures good safety practices.

Line Cook - Zig's Restaurant & Bar

Maintenance Staff

Responsible for dock installation, maintenance and inspection. Responsible for all boat and marine equipment maintenance, inspection and storage. Responsible for well and water softener maintenance and inspection. Responsible for creating keys and controlling access. Ensures good safety practices.

Manager On Duty (MOD)

Responsible for communicating day and/or evening issues through reports and email. Tour property at start of shift; re-tour throughout shift as needed. Maintain security of international staff at Black Bear House and employee staffing areas. Maintain an in-depth knowledge of reports, resort areas, and ongoing events. Be aware of all SDS information centers and resort safety procedures. Responsible for all resort keys, and patrolling of guest and parking lots. Working knowledge of all A/V equipment and sound systems in meeting rooms and dining room. Investigates and resolves guest complaints for maximum service recovery and satisfaction. Ability to operate resort computer systems including front desk check in and check out procedures.

Marina Coordinator

Develops marina staff schedule. Supervise marina staff to ensure guest needs and service expectations are met. Supervise the maintenance of the marina equipment, manage inventory and sales, clean the pool and beach areas, etc. Responsible for executing safety protocols and assisting if needed with marina activities. Perform outstanding guest service on a daily basis. Maintain interdepartmental lines of communication, and interact on a daily basis with guests and resort staff.

Marina Crew

May assist with all marina activities, including boat preparation, fishing, pontoon cruises, and beach clean-up. May interact with children taking advantage of Kids’ Kamp Program. May assist resort guests with all resort activities, including camp fires, tubing, horseback riding, and tennis.

Reservations

Responsible for selling room nights and plans to families. Create reservations, confirmations, modifications, cancellations. Helps front desk when needed.

Room Attendant

Strip bed linens; vacuum; dust; scrub sinks, tubs, toilets; sweep and mop floors. Clean fixtures; wash windows & mirrors. Make beds.

Server - Ruby's Dining Room

Greets guests and informs them of specials, buffet items, and any menu changes. Processes guest orders to ensure that all items are prepared properly and in a timely basis. If necessary, present, open, and pour wine for guests. Ensure guests are satisfied with food and service, respond to additional requests, determine when to clear table. Presents bill and collects payment. Performs all assigned pre-shift and post-shift duties. May assist server assistant with stocking work stations, busing and turning over tables. Maintains a clean and sanitary workstation. Completes daily and weekly cleaning duties.

Server - Zig's Restaurant and Bar

Greets guests and informs them of specials and any menu changes. Processes guest orders to ensure that all items are prepared properly and in a timely basis. If necessary, present, open, and pour wine for guests. Ensure guests are satisfied with food and service, respond to additional requests, determine when to clear table. Presents bill and collects payment. Performs all assigned pre-shift and post-shift duties. Maintains a clean and sanitary workstation. Completes daily and weekly cleaning duties.

Assist servers in order to provide a dining experience that exceeds guest expectations. Ensures that all products meet Ruttger’s quality standards.
