Jack's 18 Golf Course
Jack’s 18 is one of the most scenic northern Minnesota golf courses in the area winding through forests of maple, oak, birch, aspen, and the majestic Norway pines. The par 72 rolls gently alongside the placid waters of natural lakes Goose and Bass.
Quite simply a must-play Brainerd Lakes area golf course.

“MORNING GLORY”
A relatively easy driving hole and the last time you’ll hear vehicle traffic! Play enough club on your approach to the deepest green on the golf course.
“LONE PINE”
Aim a modest tee shot at the pine tree located at the outside corner of this dogleg par five. A good lay-up yardage of 100 will give you a nice look to keep your approach below the hole. A more aggressive tee shot just inside the left fairway bunker will give long hitters a shot to the green.
“LADY SLIPPER”
Leave the corner alone on the tee shot of this short par four. Playing your tee ball to the center, or slightly left of center will leave a nice 100-120 yard approach to this two-tiered green.
“GAUNTLET”
Accuracy is a must off the tee of this undulated par four. Aiming up the left side is best and will leave a nice look to the elevated green.
“STAND GUARD”
A very wide landing area off the tee will set-up for a more accurate lay-up to this par 5 with a large pine tree guarding the right side of the green. Long hitters can hug the right side and set-up to reach the green in two.
“SLEEPER”
Long hitters like to try and drive the green on this short par four. Whatever you decide to try, leave yourself in good position to keep your approach below the hole on this severely sloped green.
“LUCKY”
Take an extra club to the large green of this par three, as it plays slightly uphill.
“BASS VALLEY”
Aiming your tee shot up the right side of this dogleg left is a must in order to have a clear approach into the green which is tucked back into the trees.
“SNAPPING TURTLE”
It’s short in yardage from the upper tees, but trees guard the right side of the tee and the green slopes severely from back to front. Big hitters have a very different look (check out the black tee which is adjacent to the 8th green)!
“WILD FLOWER”
Let it rip off this tee to a very wide fairway. A generous lay-up area leads to an uphill approach. Long hitters might be tempted to go for this green in two, but be sure to weigh all the options.
“MAJESTIC PINES”
This par three is all right in front of you. Make sure to be aware of any wind, as you may not feel it while on the tee.
“CATTAIL”
The most difficult hole on the back nine sets up with a well-placed tee shot. Take an additional club to approach the elevated green.
“KIDNEY BEAN”
A well placed tee shot to the center or slightly left of center will leave a nice look to this short dogleg left hole. The shallow, sloping green demands an accurate approach.
“CROOKED GOOSE”
Big hitters might be tempted, but this par five is more safely played in three shots. The back tees set you up for a nice view of Goose Lake, but be sure to look up the fairway off the tee. The layup is a little difficult from the visual perspective, but there is plenty of room to leave a nice wedge into the green.
“LOON’S LEDGE”
Club selection and target are very important on this short par three that hangs on the edge of Goose Lake. A tee shot toward the right edge will typically have a nice kick onto the narrow, two-tiered green.
“TAME FISH”
A nice wide fairway leads to a decision on this reachable par five. Lay up well short of the hazard, or go for the tiny, sloped green in two.
“SWAN’S POND”
Hitting this fairway off the tee is crucial in order to have a decent approach to the well protected green.
“ZIG’S REVENGE”
A stunning fishing hole over Bass Lake. Don’t get too wrapped up in all that is going on here at the par three finishing hole. Block out any interference, pick a specific target and make an aggressive swing toward that target.

Rules & Etiquette
- All play is governed by USGA rules.
- Free drop from driving range, cart paths, ground under repair and staked trees.
- All wooded areas surrounding the general area of play are to be played as red penalty areas. These areas are defined by the line where rough height mowing ends and the unmaintained area begins. With one stroke penalty, you may drop the original ball or another ball within two club lengths, no nearer the hole, from the estimated point where the ball last crossed the edge of the red penalty area.
- Drop areas on holes 3, 4, 5, 12,16, 17 and 18.
- The split-rail fenced area on the right side of hole 6 and hole 7 is considered to be a red penalty area
- Please keep your cart on the path around tees and greens.
- More than four players in a group must have Pro Shop permission.
- Pace of play for 18 holes is four hours or less. Allow faster players to play through.
- Please repair divots, ball marks, rake bunkers and leave the rake IN the bunkers.
- All alcoholic beverages must be purchased in the clubhouse. Carry on alcohol, coolers and containers are prohibited.
